Reasonable Accommodations

Accommodations are determined on an individual basis to meet the student's need.  There are no automatic accommodations for any particular disability.  Below you will find a list of possible accommodations that are available and have been provided in the past.  Please refer to the "Documentation Guidelines" page for directions regarding accommodations that are requested based upon the diagnosed disability.

1.)  Possible Course Accommodations:

Students with disabilities who are taking NTCC courses may request accommodations providing that they do not compromise the validity or content of the course.  Examples of modifications for courses include:

a.) Extended time for testing and assessments (time-and-a-half or double time)

b.) Provision of alternate print or presentation formats (e.g., books in electronic format, enlarged print, Braille)

          c.) Copies of instructor's notes/presentations

d.) Reader or Scribe (for testing purposes only)

e.) Tests administered in a quiet location

          f.) Sign language interpreter

          g.) class seating placement

h.) To the extent possible, NTCC will maintain a barrier-free website.

2.)  Other Possible Testing Accommodations

a.) Additional Testing Time, including scheduled breaks if necessary

b.) Reader or scribe, accessible workstations
